Welcome to Western Australia
Connecting riders to riders to support your journey to Western Australia
This page is intended as an informal rider-to rider and community initiative. It is NOT an official TQ27 NOR WAERA accommodation, agistment or travel service. The intent of this page it to help people make connections and be confident to tackle the journey across the Nullarbor to participate in the Western Australian TQ27 at Collie. Riders and hosts should make their own enquiries and engagements regarding suitability of accommodation or agistment. Please refer to our separate section on biosecurity. This page is an information service only - there are no guarantees of agistment or accommodation by participating in this register.
About the Register

Our Eastern States Rider and Horse register is intended to help interstate riders intending to make the journey to the Western Australian TQ27 more enjoyable, less confusing and less complicated.
The idea we have is simple - we plan on using information provided by travellers and locals to create a network of people who may be able to help with agistment, accomodation or other parts of the journey.
If you are interested in participating in this exciting opportunity, please read on.
You don't need to have anything organised yet! We're interested in knowing who is coming, what you might need and roughly when you are travelling so we can start building connections before the TQ27.
How it works
1. REGISTER
Eastern States riders and WA hosts complete the relevant registration form.
2. WE BUILD THE REGISTER
Information is organised into rider, accommodation, agistment, and travel categories.
3. WE LOOK FOR MATCHES
When a rider needs somewhere to stay or agist their horse, we can search for suitable options.
4. WE CONNECT YOU
Where permission has been provided, contact details can be shared so the rider and host can discuss the arrangement directly.
An Example
Looking for:
3 Victorian riders
2 horses
Arriving: around 10 September
Leaving: 22 September
Need: Horse agistment
Preference: within approximately 1 hour of Collie
Instead of you starting from scratch, we can search our register for WA hosts who may have suitable availability.
That's the idea!!
This section is for riders in the Eastern States that are planning on making the journey across the Nullarbor to WA for the TQ27.
Click on the button to help us help your journey to TQ27 as easy as possible!
This section is for local WA riders, hosts and interested parties who might be interested in helping host an interstate horse and/or rider in the days or weeks leading up to the TQ27. You don't have to be based around Collie - some hosts further afield may also be of value to our interstate fellow riders and horses.
Please check back in soon to complete a short form so that we can help share what you have to offer with interested riders from the Eastern States
Experience the journey with Donna
After making the trip to the TQ26, I know that travelling across the country with a horse is a pretty big undertaking. Once you get to WA, having a few local contacts can make a huge difference. It seems my trip in 2026 has inspired a few other riders who may not have otherwise considered making the journey, which is fantastic! Rather than everyone trying to organise everything separately, lets see if we can build a useful network of riders and horse people.
The aim is to make "Across the Nullarbor to TQ27" a little easier for everyone.
WAERA member Donna McKee recently travelled solo across Australia to successfully compete in, and complete, the 2026 Tom Quilty in Queensland. The year before, along with some other WAERA members, she travelled to the Shazahda. There is not much Donna hasn't encountered travelling to the Eastern States and back with her endurance companion, Tora Mariah.
